About Us

Tara Sindler (MFT, SEP, CADC-II)

Kiosh Shapiro (MSc, MA, BA)

Our History

We began by working with clients with trust funds, witnessing the challenges of passing on wealth to the next generation. Through this experience, we saw how miscommunication, unmet expectations, and family tensions can lead to unintended consequences, affecting both relationships and financial legacies.

Our Current Work

Today, our focus is on preventing these issues before they take root. We help families navigate difficult conversations, set clear expectations, and foster stronger relationships, ensuring that wealth serves as a unifying force rather than a source of division.

More Information

  • Tara Sindler, LMFT, is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a Master’s in Counseling. She began her career in high-end rehabilitation centers, where she witnessed how wealth can complicate family dynamics. With deep insight into the emotional and relational struggles that arise in wealthy families, Tara understands that while financial prosperity is often seen as an unquestioned advantage, its impact on relationships is far more complex.

Co-founding Trust Fund Tribe is also personal for Tara. Growing up in a family where communication was scarce and financial security came with unspoken expectations, she experienced firsthand how money can be used as a tool for control rather than support. These dynamics created fear, resentment, and emotional distance—tensions she wishes had been addressed before her father’s passing.

Tara believes estate planning is about more than just finances. It’s an opportunity for families to engage in honest conversations, strengthen relationships, and build a shared vision for the future.

  • Kiosh holds two master’s degrees—one in Science and one in Arts—and is a dedicated Family Psychology, Healing, and Reconciliation coach. He specializes in addressing the unique challenges that wealth creates around motivation and family relationships.

Like Tara, his work at Trust Fund Tribe is personal. Growing up with wealth, he experienced firsthand how money can affect motivation and create tension in families. A turning point came when, after stepping away from his career and facing a pause in financial support, he had an honest conversation with his mother. That conversation led to a new family mission, a deeper connection, and, ironically, less financial support but more personal growth.

Now, Kiosh helps other families have these important conversations. He sees estate planning not just as a legal process, but as a chance to strengthen relationships and unlock new possibilities.
